# Data Removal and Correction Policy

The BenSyc maintainers will review requests to remove or correct examples that contain personal information, deleted source content, harmful allegations, or other privacy concerns.

## Requesting Removal

Publish a monitored project contact address before release. Requests should include enough information to identify the affected benchmark example without requiring the requester to disclose unnecessary personal information.

## Maintainer Process

1. Acknowledge the request.
2. Verify the affected synthetic `example_id`.
3. Remove or further redact the example from the active Hugging Face release.
4. Publish a corrected Zenodo version when appropriate.
5. Record the change in the changelog without reproducing removed information.
6. Ask downstream users to update to the corrected version.

## Downstream User Requirement

Access terms should require dataset users to stop using removed examples and update local copies after a correction notice.
